World Forest Day

Forest organisation in Pancevo marks its day and World Forest Day in town forest. The lecture on planting trees was held by experts from Forest Enterprise Banat. The aim of forest organization is to make Pancevo green by 2020. Forest Organisation of Serbia is marking its day today with planting of 130 elm trees and 90 oak trees. World forest day March 21st is marked with the aim to rise people’s awareness on significance of forests, which make more than 30 percent of all land territory on Earth.

 

Charter on Cooperation between Neolithic Areas

The Charter on Cooperation Between Neolithic Areas, that is areas Boljetin, Starcevo and Lepenski Vir will be signed today in Starcevo. On territories of the mentioned areas archeological localities of international significance can be found. This charter should mark the beginning of cooperation between these communities and programmes for improving their identity. Mayor Mrs Martinovic, Austrian Ambassador Clemens Coja and Provincial Secretary for Culture Milorad Djuric will be present at the signing.

 

Jewish Holiday Purim Marked with Costume Ball

Jewish community in Pancevo celebrated Purim, the most joyful Jewish holiday dedicated to children. It commemorates the deliverance of the Jewish people in the ancient Persian Empire from destruction in the wake of a plot by Haman, a story recorded in the Biblical Book of Esther. The book is read in synagogues and the celebration continues at home. The holiday is marked each year with costume ball at Petefi Sandor cultural organisation.

 

World Poetry Day

March 21st is World Poetry Day. Event World poetry day Stop! Poem Bites! In Belgrade marks the occasion, organised by Belgrade Cultural Centre. The programme is in different venues from galleries to trams. Participants are poets from pancevo as well Jasna Milicev, Jasmina Topic, Carna Popovic, Dejan Cancarevic.
